Apple Modify iPhone to Introduce in China

US electronics giant Apple and China Unicom announced on Friday that they have made an agreement to introduce Apple’s popular gadget iPhone in China later 2009. The country is the world’s largest cellular phone market with above 650 million cell phone accounts.
Unicom is going to be the first Chinese mobile phone company to officially support the iPhone network. However, thousands of fake iPhones are smuggled into China. Details of the deal are yet to be revealed, but some reports claim the sales can begin in the last quarter of the running year. Unicom expects to draw many of the cell users from rivals China Telecom and China Mobile.
According to reports, the iPhone version for China will be modified to assure government rule. The rule requires the exclusion of the phone’s wireless net function. On the other hand, Research in Motion’s data indicates Apple is competing with rival Blackberry in China for touch-pad smart phones.
8% Men Go Online more than women

Office of National Statistics (ONS) latest survey has showed, around UK’s 18 million homes has internet access. The figure represents 70% of UK households. The survey also revealed that 63% of UK households get a broadband connection, compared to 56% in 2008. The figures were made through the ONS Opinions Survey that recorded 1,200 interviews (roughly) with adults over 16 existing in private households.
During 2009, the amount of adults getting online was 37.4 million. The number is a 10% increase from last year. The 16-24 age brackets got the peak level of access at 96%, though the 65-plus age group got the small level of access at 30%. Men were 8% more likely to have online throughout the past three months. It was 80% vs. 72% for women.
KSLV-1, Korea’s First Satellite

Earlier, for a technical problem SK postponed the launch of Korea Space Launch Vehicle-1 (KSLV-1) on August 19. Officials said the KSLV-1 would carry a satellite on board.
The KSLV-1 was made in association with Russia. It is designed to send small satellites through low orbit and could bear a payload of around 100 kg. The country will build one more rocket named KSLV-2. It can be launched in 2018.
The structure of SK’s Naro Space Centre was finished in June on the Naro Island. It was the first space center in the country, located 500 km south of Seoul. The country began its space programme in the year of 1996. However, SK has so far sent into orbit 11 satellites which launched from other countries.
No Lockheed Martin’s VH-71 for High Cost

A kitchen in helicopter! Yes, a new high technology helicopter had a secret capability – cooking! It was intended to whisk US President Barack Obama to security in the time of any nuclear attack. The Lockheed Martin’s VH-71 helicopter is a world’s most technically advanced airliner. It was left by the Pentagon for its lofty cost.
Obama revealed that it would have got an on-board kitchen. On Monday, Obama made joke to amusement and said “Among its other capabilities, it would let me cook a meal while under nuclear attack. I’ll tell you something… If the United States of America is under nuclear attack, the last thing on my mind will be whipping up a snack.”
Defense Secretary Robert Gates stopped the programme of the helicopter in April. It was a sign of Obama’s drive against expensive US defense contracts. He thinks it is a waste of billions dollars of taxpayer revenue. The programme was initially planned to produce 23 helicopters at $6.5-billion. But the estimated price tag got soared to around $13-billion.
Now, the helicopter project was planned to replace the existing fleet of “Marine One”. Those are presidential helicopters and in service for a generation.
English Wikipedia Posted Three Millionth Entry

With an entry on a Norwegian actress, the English version of online encyclopedia Wikipedia hosted its 3 millionth articles on 17, August 2009. The user-generated Wikipedia announced the landmark on its homepage at www.en.wikipedia.org. It said “The English-language Wikipedia thanks its contributors for creating over 3,000,000 articles!”
Wikipedia told the three millionth editorials was about 48-year-old Beate Eriksen. She is a Norwegian TV and Film actress as well as film director. It prides itself on accessing any users with a net connection to add or edit content. Currently Wikipedia hosts total 13 million articles in more than 260 languages. It is one of the most-visited sites on the web and attracts about 65 million visitors per month. It founded eight years ago.
