Imagine 100 high-definition movies on a card size memory chip, and viewing instantaneously on your cell phone whenever and wherever you like. According to the SD Association, it can be possible within five years. Consumers will be able to store as many as 100 high-definition movies on a stamp-sized memory card and recover them with devices such as mobile phones and digital cameras, according to the advertisers of the next-generation SD card technology.
The very first of a new series of these extensive capacities card is the “SDXC” which will be available towards end of 2009 and the storage capacity of 2 terabytes memory card will presented in less then five years, the president if SD Association James Taylor said at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. He also added that “The first such cards are likely to provide 64 gigabytes of storage, twice the maximum in existing SDHC memory cards,”
