The basics of architecture have gone a very prominent transition from the first dwellings to the recent architectural marvels. But all that has made the people gaze in amazement will now be nothing compared to the rotating skyscraper which is being constructed at Dubai. The 400 meters tall Dynamic Tower would be the result of the revolutionary thinking of the architecture Dr. David Fisher.

With this latest innovation in architecture this building will provide an altogether new dimension in which everyone looks at their homes. This moving building which will be the world’s first rotating building is being constructed in Dubai and will be having 80 floors. All the floors will be constructed in such a fashion that they would be able to rotate independently. All the units would be prefabricated at separate sites in dedicated factories which will ensure minimal disturbance as also less use of energy and resources. The prefabricated section would then be mounted on one central concrete core.

The rotating skyscraper would also be an environmental building totally powered by sun and wind. 79 wind turbines would be fitted horizontally in between each of the rotating floors. The turbines would be made of carbon fiber material which would make them extremely quiet and practically invisible ensuring that they do not have any social or environmental effects. To fully make use of the solar energy Photovoltaic ink would be placed on the roofs of all the rotating floors. The unique design would ensure that approximately 20 percent of all the roofs would be exposed to sun which would definitely help in harnessing more light with 80 roofs. The interior of the Dynamic Tower would also be completely natural. Recyclable and natural materials like wood, glass, marble and stone would be used for interior designing. Insulated glass and structured panels would help in the Dynamic Towers to be more energy efficient.

The total cost of constructing this building would be around $700 million while each individual floor would cost around $3.7 m to $36 m and as such would cater to upper class. Anyone who owns an apartment which occupies the entire floor can rotate the floor through voice command and would be able to control the direction and speed.

According to the architect Dr. Fisher such buildings would be an important innovation where one can show their moods in shape of an expression of freedom. The building scheduled to be completed in 2010 would be just the beginning of a revolution which would change the way the world looks. With similar projects to come up in Moscow and then New York, the world would surely be a revolving place.
