Top 5 Upcoming Tech Summits You Should Attend in 2019

Over the past couple of weeks, we have been listing some of the most innovative tech being made by Africans. Some of them are just genius and would make you want to see more innovations by Africans. Well, you can. There are annual tech summits and conventions happening in different parts of the country that showcase Africa’s potential to contributing to global innovation. Some of them have actually passed (sorry) but we are going to look at the upcoming summits.

So, get your notebook, set aside some travelling cash and get ready as we are listing down the top 5 upcoming tech summits you should attend this year. Also, we are listing them in no particular order.

5. MEST Africa Summit

  • Location: Nairobi, Kenya
  • Date: 10-12 June

This Pan-African tech conference brings together top entrepreneurs, investors, executives and ecosystem players from across Africa, Silicon Valley, Europe and Asia to explore the latest innovations and rising stars in the tech and startup space on the continent.

Some of the notable speakers in this year’s summit include:

3. South African (SA) Innovation Summit

2. EduTECH Africa

  • Location: Johannesburg, South Africa
  • Date: 9th-10th September

EduTECH Africa is one of the continent’s largest education conference and edtech exhibition platforms. Over the course of two days, leading solution providers showcase a wide range of tech aimed at transforming Africa’s edtech industry.

The conference features keynotes from pioneering experts who are already changing the industry, as well interactive experience zones that allow buyers to interact with and use live products.

1. eLearning Africa

  • Location: Abidjan, Ivory Coast
  • Date: 23rd-25th October

The conference is one of the continent’s largest gathering of elearning and ICT supported education, learning and training professionals, enabling participants to develop multinational and cross-industry contacts and partnerships, as well as to enhance their knowledge, expertise and abilities.

The 14th edition of eLearning Africa will be held from 23 – 25 October, 2019 in the Hotel Ivoire Sofitel in Abidjan, the capital of Côte d’Ivoire. The conference is organised by ICWE GmbH and the Government of Côte d’Ivoire under the overall theme “The Keys to the Future: Learnability and Employability“.
